GALESBURG, Ill. - Ripon's volleyball team lost to Knox College in four sets Friday night. The Red Hawks dropped the first set 25-20, before winning the second 25-18, but would fall in the final two sets by a score of 25-22 and 27-25.
Ripon (9-15, 1-5 MWC) was led by
Arynn Mathieu's 13 kills and .225 hitting percentage, while also adding 12 digs.
Inesha Wiseman finished with 11 kills, while
MaKenna Harmsen recorded 10.
Riley Nielsen led the team with 38 assists, while
Sam Thrasher's 18 digs also led the team.
Micaela Encarnacion chipped in with three service aces, 16 digs, and four assists.
Catessa Duran led Knox (8-11, 3-4 MWC) with 17 kills to go along with a hitting percentage of .262. Caroline Wolters added nine kills, while Kaitlyn Haase registered six. Emme Patton led the Pririe FIre with 19 digs, while Samantha Bergeron posted a team-high 16 assists.
The Red Hawks will remain on the road Saturday when they'll face Monmouth College. That match will begin at 11:30 a.m. in Monmouth, Ill., and can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/monmouth/.
