RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's volleyball team lost to conference-leading Cornell College Friday night in three sets, losing 25-20, 25-16, 25-19. The Red Hawks recorded 28 kills in the match to go along with a hitting percentage of .039, while Cornell posted 39 kills and a .197 hitting percentage.
Ripon (8-13, 0-3 MWC) was led by
Inesha Wiseman's eight kills, while
Arynn Mathieu added six, to go along with 10 digs.
Kelly Kline and
MaKenna Harmsen each posted four kills.
Riley Nielsen led Ripon with 25 assists, while
Micaela Encarnacion posted a match-high 19 digs.
Rory Light and Alissa McEndaffer led Cornell (11-6, 4-0 MWC) with 11 kills apiece, while Clare Green led all players with 33 assists and two service aces. Sydney Meeker's 13 digs led the team, as did Light's four blocks.
The Red Hawks will be back in action again on Saturday as they'll face another top-tier team in Grinnell College, which is currently tied for first in the MWC standings with Cornell. Saturday's game can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ripon/.
