RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's women's basketball team led for all but one and a half minutes Saturday afternoon, en route to a 63-56 win against Knox College for their third consecutive victory. The Red Hawks shot 43 percent (23-53) from the field, including 62 percent (8-13) from 3-point range, while holding Knox to 31 percent (22-71) shooting.
Ripon (4-6, 3-0) led by as many as nine in the opening quarter, but that lead was cut to three with six minutes remaining in the half. Ripon then closed the second quarter on a 21-2 run to take a commanding 22-point lead into halftime.
The Red Hawks continued to pour it on in the second half, leading by as many as 29 points, including a 25-point lead entering the final quarter. Knox (2-7, 0-3 MWC) then outscored Ripon 22-4 in the fourth period, but Ripon's big lead was too much to overcome.
Ripon was led by
Annika Anderson's career-high 14 points off the bench on 4-of-5 shooting from 3-point range.
Kiana Fall added 12 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, while
Abby Hartmann and
Alison Leslie scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Knox was led by Catessa Duran's double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Sarina Dacio added 15 points off the bench, while Saxon Alvarez added nine points, five rebounds, and four assists.
