RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's men's tennis team faced a good Loras College team Sunday afternoon, which resulted in Loras edging out a 5-4 victory. The two teams split the six singles matches, with Loras' two out of three victories in doubles play being the difference.
Ripon's day was highlighted by
Drew Jorgensen, who won his match at the number one flight, defeating Kevin Blomquist 6-0, 6-3.
Vince Ireland was also victorious for the Red Hawks (1-3), winning his number five singles match 5-7, 7-6, 10-0.
Jonah Lazo also earned a victory by default in at the sixth flight of singles play.
Ripon's only doubles victory came at the third position by default. Loras (7-3) won each of the top two doubles flights by identical 8-4 scores.
The Red Hawks will be in action again on April 10 when they'll host Cornell (Iowa). That match will begin at 12:45 p.m. in The Field House at Willmore Center.
