LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Lake Forest used a five-goal first half to coast to a 6-0 victory over Ripon on Saturday. The Foresters also held a 27-3 advantage in total shots, and a 12-0 advantage in corner kicks.
The Foresters (3-0-0) got the scoring started early and often, breaking a scoreless tie in the fourth minute on Alyssa Xanos' sixth goal of the season. Raven Dziedzinski and Morgan Henrichs would each score in the ensuing minutes, giving LFC a 3-0 lead in the 16th minute. After Xanos' team-leading seventh goal of the season, Iman Shepard added another first half goal for the Foresters to make the score 5-0 with less than 29 minutes remaining in the half. Julia Larson capped the scoring in the 56th minute with the game's only second half goal.
Stephanie Zeiger played the entire game in goal for the Red Hawks, making 10 saves in her 90 minutes of work. Lake Forest saw three Goal Keepers play at least 12 minutes, with Aarti Singh making the team's only save.
Ripon will be in action again on Sunday when they'll host Marian University.
