APPLETON, Wis. - Ripon's softball team lost both games of Sunday's doubleheader at Lawrence University, dropping the first 5-0, before losing game two 3-0.

Ripon recorded four hits in game one, coming from Brennah Bronk, Claire Luebke, Abby Gilbertson, and Margaret Herrin. Alyssa Banta struck out seven batters in 4.2 innings of work, while Herrin pitched well in relief, allowing zero earned runs on two hits in 1.1 innings, while also striking out two batters.

All three runs in game two came in the bottom of the first inning. Ripon recorded two hits in that contest, coming from Gilbertson and Victoria Duran. Claire Luebke allowed three runs on nine hits, while striking out two in the complete game.

The Red Hawks will close out their 2021 season next weekend when they'll host St. Norbert College in a Sunday doubleheader on what will be Senior Day at Tracy Field.
