BELOIT, Wis. – The Ripon College men's swimming and diving team went 3-0 at the Beloit Invitational Saturday afternoon.
The Red Hawks are now 4-2 on the season.
Ripon College defeated Beloit College (110.5-83.5), Illinois College (129-80) and North Central College (135-35).
The Red Hawks started the meet with a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley. Miki Canak, Ben Chambers, Ethan Brannen and Brigham Freeman notched a time of 1:45.04.
Chambers claimed the 100-IM title with a time of 57.58, edging his second-place competitor by .14. Chambers also picked up the 50-breaststroke title in 28.71.
Cooper Herr won the 200-freestyle by touching the wall in 1:54.25.
Ripon College dominated the 100-fly as Ben Rahlf won the event in 54.71. Freeman placed second in 56.32 while Brannen was fourth in 59.71.
Herr notched a victory in the 50 free with a time of 22.62. Canak was not far behind, placing third in 24.58.
Brannen and Freeman were on the medal stand for the 100 breaststroke. Brannen was second in 1:06.96 while Freeman placed third in 1:07.03.
Herr won the points for the 500 freestyle after finishing in 5:11.68.
Rahlf and Chambers went one-two in the 50 fly. Rahlf won in 24.26 while Chambers was second in 25.17.
Freeman notched the victory in the 200 IM after touching the wall in 2:10.69.
The quartet of Herr, Brannen, Canak and Rahlf combined to finish in a time of 1:36.10 for the 200 freestyle relay. The time was good enough for first place.
The Red Hawks return to action Friday, Dec. 2 for the two-day Pioneer Classic.
