RIPON, Wis. – The Ripon College women's swimming & diving team picked up its first win of the season after knocking off Beloit 111-81 Saturday afternoon.
The Red Hawks are now 1-2 on the season.
Ripon College's first win of the day came in the 1,000-yard freestyle as Abbey Anderson claimed the win in 11:59.41. Her time of 33.64 on her final lap was her second-best lap of the event.
Sky Domingo and Natalie Weidner went one-two in the 200-yard freestyle. Domingo won the event in a time of 2:04.97 while Weidner touched the wall in 2:13.73.
Weidner garnered a win in the 100-yard freestyle, edging her opponent by under four-tenths of a second. Weidner accounted for a time of 59.20 while Beloit's swimmer touched in 59.58.
Grace McCrery and Kennedy Moore went one-two in the 200-yard backstroke. McCrery pulled away from Moore in the final lap, besting her teammate with a time of 2:32.78. Moore finished in 2:38.17.
Domingo and Anderson were the top two competitors in the 500-yard freestyle. Domingo finished in 5:37.66 while Anderson wrapped up the event in 5:48.61.
Sophie Czerwonka piked up the victory in the 200-yard breaststroke. She claimed the win after touching the wall in 2:41.55.
In the final race of the day, Ripon College added to their victory with a win in the 200-yard freestyle. Anderson, Moore, Anna Bose and Lauren Bahr tallied a mark of 1:50.64 for the victory.
The Red Hawks return to action Saturday, Nov. 12, when they compete in the Gene Davis Invitational at 1 p.m.
