LEESBURG, Fla. - Ripon's softball team lost both games they played on Tuesday, falling to Maryville (Tenn.) 27-1, before losing to Hamline 8-0.
The Red Hawks' only run of their first game came in the top of the fourth when
Lexzie Hassemer singled up the middle to score
Abby Gilbertson from third base.
Ripon finished the first game with five hits, before recording four base knocks in their second game, which saw them allow seven of Hamline's eight runs in the third inning.Â
In that loss to Hamline,
Savanna Trittelwitz allowed just three earned runs in five innings of work, while striking out four batters.
Ripon will have their off day on Wednesday, before getting back on the field Thursday against Meredith and Minnesota-Morris at 10 a.m. and 12:15 a.m. ET, respectively.
