DAVENPORT, Fla. - Ripon lost to Illinois Weslyan by a score of 9-0 Thursday afternoon. IWU's pitcher Scott Monocchio twirled a gem, allowing just four hits and striking out 10 in the complete game shutout.
Ripon's four hits came from
Cormac Madigan,
Nick Terrell,
Samuel Ott, and
Nathan Sigg, with a double by Terrell accounting for the Red Hawks' only extra-base hit.
Brock Turkington pitched well for the Red Hawks in relief, recording a career-high five strikeouts, while allowing two runs on four hits in three innings of work.
The Red Hawks will wrap up their 2022 Spring Trip on Friday with a game against Rutgers-Camden. That game will begin at 1:30 p.m. ET at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, Fla.
