MONMOUTH, Ill. - One day after winning both games of a doubleheader against Monmouth, the Red Hawks finished off a three-game sweep of the Fighting Scots with a 10-4 road victory. Ripon also out-hit Monmouth by a 14-6 margin, en route to their fourth consecutive victory.

The Red Hawks (7-5, 3-0 MWC) struck first on Monday, scoring two runs in the top of the second, thanks to a two-run single off the bat of Cam Stampfl. After Monmouth (6-10, 0-3 MWC) tied things up with a pair of runs in the third, Ripon grabbed the lead for good in the fifth, as Sam Ott drove in a pair of runs with a single and Evan Barbian added an RBI single to put Ripon up 5-2.

Brock Warren would add an RBI double later in the game, while Nick Tenny recorded a pair of RBI. Jake Pankratz would also drive in two with his first home run of the season.

Tenny led the Red Hawks with three hits on the day, while Ott, Barbian, and Stampfl each posted a pair of base knocks. Brock Turkington (2-0) earned the victory, allowing one run on two hits and striking out three in 2.1 innings of work. Mauricio Huesca Villegas recorded his first career save, allowing four hits and striking out six without issuing a walk in 4.2 scoreless innings of relief.

Ripon will be in action again on Saturday in what will be their 2022 home opener against Illinois College. That doubleheader will begin at Noon at Francis Field in Ripon, and can be seen live at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ripon/.
