Dameco Walker Named MWC Field Performer of the Week

Ripon College junior Dameco Walker has been named Midwest Conference Men's Outdoor Field Performer of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the conference office.

Walker had a historic day at UW-LaCrosse's Phil Esten Meet over the weekend, breaking Ripon's longest-standing school record, which had stood for 98 years in the Long Jump. Set in 1924 by Ripon Hall of Famer Ralph Christophersen '25, with a benchmark of 23-06, Walker surpassed that mark on multiple attempts, his farthest going out to 24-10 to win the competition. His second farthest jump was 24-05 and had a legal tail wind of 2.6 m/s, which currently ranks him fifth overall in the nation. Walker also set a personal-best in the 200m of 22.40 seconds (sixth in school history) and anchored the 4x400 relay to the third-fastest time in school history (3:21.65), teaming up with Andrew Fuhrmann, Wyatt Lowrance and Jacob Jumbeck.
