APPLETON, Wisconsin – The Ripon swim and dive programs dropped a pair of close decisions to Midwest Conference rival Lawrence on Saturday afternoon inside Boldt Natatorium.
On the women's side,
Natalie Weidner was the first winner of the day for Ripon, taking first in the 1000 free with a time of 12:35.81. Soon after, Ripon won two consecutive women's individual races as
Sophie Czerwonka took first in the 50 free (27.91) and
Sky Domingo paced the 200 IM field in 2:29.04. Both were multi-event winners as Czerwonka also took home the 100 breast title in 1:14.24 while Domingo won the 500 free in 5:49.82.
In diving,
Kristy Cerna-Rivera totaled a score of 160.70 in the 1-meter competition to beat out two contending Vikings.
On the men's side,
Brigham Freeman was the top Red Hawk as he won both the 100 breast (1:06.32) and the 50 free (23.09).
Cooper Herr also claimed an individual win, beating out the 100 fly field in 58.76.
In addition, Ripon found success in the 200 free relays as the men took first with a time of 1:34.26 while the women crossed the finish line first in 1:51.02.
The women were defeated 109-105, while the men fell 116-76.
