RIPON, Wis. – The Ripon College men's tennis team lost an 8-1 decision to visiting Calvin Friday evening.
The Red Hawks are now 0-5 on the season.
The tandem of
CJ Counts and
Caleb Sippel cruised to an 8-3 victory at the No. 1 doubles spot for the team's lone point on the day.
Ty Rondestvedt and
Austin Stevens fought hard but dropped an 8-4 contest at the No. 2 doubles spot.
Stevens turned in the closest singles match, which occurred at the No. 3 position. He fell by a score of 7-6 (11), 6-3. Counts had a back-and-forth affair with his opposition at the No. 2 slot but ended up dropping a 6-3, 6-1 match.
The Red Hawks return to action tomorrow when they host Wisconsin Lutheran at 9 a.m., before facing Wartburg at 3 p.m.
