GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Ripon College men's tennis team lost an 8-1 decision at St. Norbert College Friday evening in the season-opening match.
The Green Knights are now 1-2 overall while the Red Hawks fall to 0-1.

Caleb Sippel combined for an 8-4 victory at the top spot.
At No. 2 doubles,
Ty Rondestvedt and
Austin Stevens lost an 8-2 contest. Third-seeded
Jack Ives and
Casey Bryant fell by an 8-1 count.
In singles action, Counts pushed his opponent to the brink at the No. 2 spot. He lost the first set 6-3 before picking up a 6-2 victory in the second stanza. However, he dropped the tiebreaker 10-5.
Rondestvedt fell by a 6-4, 6-4 score at the No. 4 spot. Sippel, playing at No. 1, lost a 6-3, 6-2 decision.
The Red Hawks return to action tomorrow when they square off against Saint Mary's University (Minn.) at 4 p.m.
