MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Ripon College men's tennis team lost a 7-2 decision against Concordia University (Wis.) Sunday afternoon.
The Red Hawks are now 0-3 on the season.
Head coach
Steve Burns' team picked up a pair of victories in singles action.
CJ Counts notched a 6-2, 6-4 victory at the No. 2 spot.
Ty Rondestvedt accounted for a thrilling 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) victory at the No. 4 slot.
Jack Ives lost a hard-fought match at the No. 6 spot. He won the first frame 6-2 before falling 6-2 in the second stanza. Ives lost a 1-0 (10-5) decision for the tiebreaker.
In doubles action, the dyad of Counts and
Caleb Sippel pushed the opposition the hardest before falling 8-5. Rondestvedt and
Austin Stevens fell by an 8-4 score at the No. 2 position.
The Red Hawks return to action Saturday, Feb. 11 in Oshkosh against Carroll University at 6 p.m.
