OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Ripon College men's tennis team closed out the regular season with a 6-3 victory over Lawrence Saturday evening.
The Red Hawks are now 6-12 overall and 3-3 in league play.
The victory clinches the No. 4 spot for Ripon College at the upcoming Midwest Conference Championships.
Ripon College jumped out to a 3-0 lead after sweeping all three doubles matches.
Drew Jorgensen and
Caleb Sippel won No. 1 doubles by an 8-5 score.

Ty Rondestvedt also picked up an 8-5 victory at the No. 2 spot.
Jack Ives and
Austin Stevens had the toughest doubles match of the day. However, the Red Hawks' tandem garnered an 8-7 (7-1) win for the three-point lead.
In singles play, Sippel notched a 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) win at the No. 2 slot. Stevens managed to knock off his foe by a 6-3, 6-4 count at No. 4 singles.
Rondestvedt went the three-set distance against his opponent and tallied a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win at the No. 5 spot.
Casey Bryant closed out the day with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.
The Red Hawks return to action Apr. 28 at the Midwest Conference Championships in Peoria, Ill.
