RIPON, Wis. – The Ripon College men's tennis team posted a 9-0 victory over Monmouth (Ill.) Saturday morning in the MWC opener.
The Red Hawks are 4-9 on the season, including 1-0 against conference foes.
Drew Jorgensen and
Caleb Sippel notched an 8-3 win at the No. 1 doubles position to get things going.
CJ Counts and
Ty Rondestvedt garnered an 8-0 victory at the No. 2 spot while
Jack Ives and
Austin Stevens won by forfeit at No. 3.
In singles play, the Red Hawks continued staying red hot. Jorgensen continued his stellar day with a 6-1, 6-1 win at the top singles spot. Sippel posted a shutout victory at the No. 2 singles slot, winning 6-0, 6-0.
Counts tallied a 6-1, 6-2 win at the No. 3 spot while Stevens posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 4 slot.
Rondestvedt registered a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 while
Casey Bryant notched a win by forfeit at the No. 6 position.
The Red Hawks return to action Saturday afternoon at home against Illinois College at 2:30 p.m.
