RIPON, Wisconsin – The Ripon College men's track and field program was named an All-Academic team for the third consecutive year by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative academic year GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period. The team's cumulative GPA for the 2022-23 school year was 3.12.
The program had a historic 2022-23 campaign, winning both the Midwest Conference Indoor and Outdoor Championships for the second consecutive season. Head coach
Bob Wood sent three athletes –
Ben Fisher (Waupun, Wis./Waupun HS),
Dameco Walker (Milwaukee, Wis./Brown Deer HS) and
Cade Gray (Ocklawaha, Fla./Belleview HS) – to the 2023 NCAA Championships in both the indoor and outdoor seasons. Fisher was named an All-American in the high jump in both the indoor and outdoor seasons. Walker earned All-American status in both indoor and outdoor long jump competitions.
