APPLETON, Wisconsin – The Ripon swim and dive programs stepped out of dual racing for the first time this season on Saturday, competing in the Gene Davis Invite hosted by Lawrence inside Boldt Natatorium.
In the women's 500 free,
Sky Domingo took second place in 5:38.73. She also claimed third place in the 200 free (2:06.29).
Sophie Czerwonka also claimed a runner-up finish as the senior finished second in the 100 breast with a time of 1:14.20. In the 400 medley relay, Czerwonka,
Kiarra Kahl,
Lauren Bahr and
Grace McCrery clocked in at 4:31.50 for a third-place finish, and Kahl placed third individually in the 100 breast (1:17:14).
Natalie Weidner (500 free and 200 free), Bahr (50 free and 100 back), Czerwonka (200 back), the 400 free relay team of Czerwonka, Weidner,
Anna Bose,
Kennedy Moore and the 200 medley relay team of
Brenann O'Leary,
Lillian McGuire, Domingo and
Ella Olive all had top-five finishes to contribute to Ripon's cause.
On the men's side,
Cooper Herr raced to fifth-place finishes in the 200 free (1:53.96) and the 100 free (50.24). He was a part of the 200 free relay team, along with
Miki Canak,
Ben Rahlf and
Liam Yeager, that took fourth in 1:42.32. Individually, Rahlf earned himself fifth place in the 200 fly with a time of 2:13.68.
The women came in third place, while the men took fifth.
