RIPON, Wisconsin – The Ripon track and field programs kicked off the 2024-25 indoor season on Saturday, facing off against a number of Wisconsin schools at the Ripon Winter Open inside the Willmore Center.
Madylyn Woyak secured Ripon's first individual running title on Saturday, winning the 300-meter run in 44.00 while her teammate
Devin Ibarra took third in 45.41.
Jenny Cortes started her season off strong in the 400-meter run, finishing first in 1:02.40 while another Red Hawk,
Kiki Sherman, claimed third with a time of 1:07.00.
Sidney Hoffa had a strong 200-meter dash to place second with a 27.70 performance.
On the men's side,
Rainier Villanueva was the top finisher in the 400-meter run, doing so in 52.90 while
Aiden Brobst (53.28) and
Adisun Romprey (53.75) were right behind him. After a strong finish in the 60-hurdles prelims,
Dorian Phillips placed third in the finals with a time of 8.93. Also in short distance,
Logan Vander Galien earned a hard-fought second-place finish in the 60-meter dash finals with a time of 7.10.
Kaden Taddey picked up another top-three finish for Ripon, doing so in the 200-meter dash with a third-place finish (23.82).
In field events,
Noah Hanson earned third place in the shot put with a toss of 12.44m. The high jump was kind to Ripon in both genders –
Ben Fisher (first place, 1.95m) and
Kyan Lins (third place, 1.90m) took two spots on the podium in the men's competition, while
Chloe Studinski placed third on the women's side (1.51m).

Ripon now has over a month off before hosting its Alumni Dual with Beloit at noon on Saturday, January 18.
