RIPON, Wisconsin – For the third consecutive season, the Ripon track and field programs have swept both the men's and women's Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field team titles after numerous impressive performances on Saturday inside the Willmore Center.
The three consecutive indoor team titles for each gender, all under Director of Cross Country and Track and Field
Bob Wood, are the first three titles in each program's history.
Additionally,
Dameco Walker was named the MWC Men's Field Outstanding Performer after a pair of first-place finishes over the weekend. Wood and his staff were named the Men's and Women's Coaching Staffs of the Year for the third consecutive season as well.
On the women's side, the distance medley team of
Devin Ibarra,
Mikayla Flyte,
Alison Denamur and
Minnie Hoffman claimed first in 12:48.58, over 20 seconds clear of the second-place team. After winning the mile on Friday,
Jenny Cortes was the runner-up in the 800-meter run on Saturday with a time of 2:19.17 – less than a second behind the event champ.
Continuing her long-distance success from Friday was
Alison Denamur, who took second in the 3,000-meter run (10:22.46).
Bridget Finn received all-conference honors in the 60-meter hurdles, taking third with a time of 9.51 for a new PR. In the last track event of the day, Finn,
Madylyn Woyak,
Heleyna Weiss and Cortes crossed the finish line third in the 4x400 meter relay (4:09.17).
On the men's side, Ripon got things going early.
Isaac San Diego won the pole vault in 4.40m, also a new PR. Walker won the MWC triple jump event for his second individual title of the weekend – after a runner-up finish in 2022 and a first-place finish in 2023, the senior won this year's event in 13.80m. The distance medley relay foursome of
Christian Kuwaye,
Matt Seeber,
Sam Trzebiatowski and
Adisun Romprey earned a first-place finish in 10:33.32, edging out Cornell by less than a second.
In the 60-meter dash, the Red Hawks went 2-3:
Logan Vander Galien was the runner-up in 6.96 seconds, good for a new PR, while
Jacoby Cefalu placed third in 6.97. Cefalu continued his strong weekend with a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash, coming in at 22.27. Additionally,
Jacob Jumbeck earned All-Midwest Conference accolades in the 800-meter run, also finishing second with a time of 1:56.40 for a new PR.
