MEQUON, Wisconsin – The Ripon men's tennis program dropped an 8-1 decision at Concordia University Wisconsin on Sunday morning.
Ripon (0-4) found early success in doubles as the pair of
Austin Stevens and
Jaden Francis collected an 8-3 win on court two, though Concordia (1-1) led 2-1 after doubles thanks to wins on courts one and three.
The Red Hawks were competitive on multiple courts in singles even though the Falcons won all six courts.
Caleb Sippel won four games in the first set on the top court, while Stevens dropped a hard-fought 6-4, 7-5 decision on court two. Francis and
Corey Mooney each took games off their opponents on the fourth and fifth lines, respectively.
NEXT UP: Ripon competes three times next weekend in De Pere, starting with a 5:30 p.m. match on Friday (February 9) against Hamline at the Green Bay Tennis Center.
