RIPON, Wisconsin – Dameco Walker of the Ripon men's track and field program has been named an indoor track and field all-region athlete in both the long jump and triple jump by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as announced by the USTFCCCA on Tuesday.
 
This is the third consecutive long jump all-region honor for Walker and his second-straight triple jump all-region award.
 
A three-time indoor national qualifier and a reigning All-American in the long jump, Walker won the long jump for the third straight year and the triple jump for the second consecutive season at the recent Midwest Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on his way to becoming the MWC Male Outstanding Field Performer. In Saturday's NCAA Final Qualifier + Multi, Walker's jump of 15.00m in the triple jump surpassed the previous school record which he set last season. The senior jumped more than a foot farther in Saturday's meet for the new school record. Additionally, his jump is the third-best triple jump in Division III this season thus far.
 
Walker also holds the Ripon indoor record for the long jump, jumping over 24 feet in 2023.
 
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams.
 
Walker is one of three Red Hawks set to compete in the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday (March 8-9) in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The senior will compete in the long jump on Friday at 1:30 p.m. CT and the triple jump on Saturday at 10 a.m. CT.
