RIPON, Wisconsin –
Caleb Sippel and
Austin Stevens of the Ripon men's tennis program have been named Academic All-District athletes by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) as announced on Tuesday.
Sippel, a sophomore Biology major from Appleton, Wisconsin, led Ripon with seven singles wins in dual play this season, going 7-13 from the top spot in the lineup. In doubles, he was the team leader with nine dual wins – all from the top line as well. He also won consolation titles in both singles and doubles on the first line at the Midwest Conference Individual Tennis Tournament.
Stevens, a sophomore Economics and Business Management major from Mukwonago, Wisconsin, finished his sophomore campaign with a 4-10 dual singles record playing solely from the second spot in the lineup. He sported a 5-9 doubles record from the top two lines, playing with Sippel on the top court for nearly all of Midwest Conference action. At the MWC Individual Tennis Tournament, Stevens teamed up with Sippel to win the consolation doubles title on the top line.
Ripon finished the 2023-24 season 3-17 overall and 1-5 in Midwest Conference play.
