RIPON, Wisconsin –
Dameco Walker and
Ben Fisher of the Ripon men's track and field program have been selected to compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, next weekend (May 23-25) at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
For the third consecutive outdoor season, Walker will wrap up his campaign on the nation's biggest stage. The senior will compete at the outdoor national championships in both the long jump and the triple jump for the second consecutive season. In 2023, Walker was an All-American in the long jump, taking fourth. 2024 marks his fourth and fifth events at the outdoor national championships. His long jump of 14.59m at the Midwest Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships last week is the second-best long jump so far this season in all of Division III.
Fisher is back at the culminating event of the outdoor season for the second straight year. Last year, he was an All-American in the high jump with a sixth-place finish. At the Fox River Showdown on May 3, Fisher jumped 2.05m to put himself in position for the national championships, tying the high jump school record he set last season. At last week's MWC Outdoor Championships, he was the league's long jump champ for the second-straight year.
Walker will compete in the long jump on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. CT and the triple jump on Saturday at 12 p.m. CT. Fisher's high jump competition is slated for Friday at 3 p.m. CT. Times are subject to change. Visit riponredhawks.com for links to live video and stats when available.
