MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina – Dameco Walker of the Ripon men's track and field program ended the Red Hawks' season in the triple jump on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
Against a competitive national field, the senior unfortunately had three fouls to end his run in Myrtle Beach. Rochester's Cole Goodman was the national champion in the event with a jump of 15.76m.
With possibly one more outdoor season of competition left, Walker will go down as one of Ripon's greatest all-time track and field athletes. The senior has qualified for the NCAA Track and Field Championships a whopping 10 times across both the indoor and outdoor seasons and is a four-time, first team All-American (indoor long jump in 2024, indoor triple jump in 2024, outdoor long jump in 2023 and indoor long jump in 2023). Walker – either individually or via relays – holds seven different school records between indoor and outdoor. He is a 10-time Midwest Conference champion in the long jump and triple jump across both indoor and outdoor, winning five titles apiece throughout his career.
