RIPON, Wisconsin –
Brigham Freeman of the Ripon men's swimming and diving and tennis programs has been named the 2023/24 recipient of the James Ralph "Shug" Jordan Award as announced by the Theta Chi Fraternity.
The Shug Jordan Award is annually given to a single collegiate scholar/athlete who demonstrates impressive leadership, service, scholastic accomplishments and athletic ability.
Freeman has been invited to receive his award this summer during Theta Chi Fraternity's 168th Anniversary Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana, held from August 2-6.
In the pool, Freeman is among the top five swimmers in a host of events throughout the Ripon record book. He holds the second-fastest 400 IM and 1000 free times and the third-fastest 500 free, 1650 free and 200 fly times. He also swam the fifth-fastest 100 fly time in school history this past season.
