APPLETON, Wis. -- Senior
Jenny Cortes (Round Lake, Ill., Round Lake HS) took first place among collegiate runners at this year's Lawrence University hosted Gene Davis Invite. As teams, the Red Hawks would finish in sixth on both sides.
Cortes's finish would come in with a 22:18.9 time, her new personal record and fifth fastest in school history. Finishing next for the Red Hawks was freshman
Tatum Packard (Moab, Ut., Grand County HS) clocking a 28:18.7, while sophomore
Sarah Hill (Kewaskum, Wis., Kewaskum HS) would record a 29:54.7 to round out Ripon's top three.
On the men's side, freshmen
Nicholas Tyrcha (Machesney Park, Ill., Harlem HS) and
Aidan Ruedinger (Oshkosh, Wis., Ripon HS) would be the first across the line, clocking times of 27:52.3 and 28:10.3, respectively. Freshman
Kole Brock (Cypress, Tex., Cypress Ranch HS) rounded out Ripon's top three, crossing the line with a 28:21.8.
The Red Hawks return to action at next weekend's Augustana Interregional Invite on Oct 18, running with a stacked field of high-performing programs.
