DE PERE, Wisconsin – The Ripon track and field programs sent 10 athletes to De Pere on Thursday afternoon as the Red Hawks competed at the St. Norbert College Opener.
Despite the low number of athletes competing, Ripon still found a way to make noise as the Red Hawks placed first, second or third in nearly every event.
Christian Kuwaye was the only participant in the 3K steeplechase, completing it in 10:12.56. His teammate,
Rainier Villanueva, won the 1500 in 4:05.19.
Jacob Davies was the next winner for Ripon, leading the 200 field with a time of 22.39. In field events,
Ben Fisher started his last collegiate outdoor campaign with a 1.96m mark in the high jump to win that event.
On the women's side,
Jenny Cortes paced the 1500 field with a victory in 4:43.70.
Kiki Sherman also took first place, doing so in the 400 hurdles (1:11.87).
Second-place finishers included
Zak Ladage (110 hurdles),
Bridget Finn (100 hurdles and long jump) and Davies (100).
