APPLETON, Wisconsin – The Ripon track and field programs continued regular season competition on Wednesday, heading to nearby Lawrence for the Viking Twilight.
In a meet that was moved up 24 hours due to impending weather, Ripon had a number of fast times and strong performances at the site of the upcoming Midwest Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 9-10.
Jacoby Cefalu broke a school record for the second consecutive meet, setting the new top program mark in the 200 with a 21.40 time. He took second place against a competitive field and now stands tied for 11th in all of Division III in that event.
On the women's side,
Bridget Finn continued her strong spring with a first place finish in the 100; the graduate student nearly broke the school record but settled for a 12.67 time.
Kiki Sherman also won an individual event, pacing the 400 hurdles field with a 1:08.73 mark.
Mya Garcia finished the running portion of the meet with a runner-up finish in the 10K (41:05.58), while
Madylyn Woyak placed third in both the 400 (1:00.81) and the 200 (27.27).
On the men's side,
Jeremy Saloun took fifth in the 1500 with a time of 4:19.51.
Zak Ladage and
Dorian Phillips both had top five finishes in the 110 hurdles, going 16.38 and 16.40 respectively.
In field events,
Chloe Studinski took second with a 1.51m performance in the high jump, and
Logan Vander Galien was the long jump runner-up (6.67m). Finn placed third in the javelin (33.35m) and Arnhold was third in the long jump (4.82m).
Noah Hanson took fourth in the shot put with a toss of 14.00m, while
Braedy Picard was fifth at 13.96m.
Pierce Krowas also placed fifth in a field event, going 41.80m in the hammer throw.
