MOUNT VERNON/GRINNELL, Iowa – The Ripon men's tennis program completed regular season action on Saturday, falling 7-0 to both Cornell and Grinnell.
In the opening match against Cornell (15-8, 3-2 MWC), Ripon (6-15, 1-5 MWC) fell behind in doubles after the Rams took all three courts. The Rams won five of six singles courts in straight sets, though
Caleb Sippel pushed the Rams to three sets on court three.
Grinnell (11-11, 6-0 MWC) was nearly flawless in the afternoon finale. The Pioneers swept all three doubles courts without dropping a game, and claimed straight-set singles wins on all six courts to secure the outright Midwest Conference championship.
NEXT UP: Ripon prepares for the Midwest Conference Individual Tennis Tournament on Saturday and Sunday (April 26-27) in Madison.
