MADISON, Wisconsin – The Ripon men's tennis program kicked off the annual Midwest Conference Individual Tennis Tournament on Saturday at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium on the campus of the University of Wisconsin.
Kyle Flook provided the singles highlight of the day for Ripon. In a marathon match on court five, he outlasted Illinois College's Grayson Dupre 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (8) to advance to Saturday's semifinal where he fell to the top seed from Grinnell.
Four Red Hawks won consolation semifinal matches: Mooney took down Antonio Perez (Monmouth) 8-4 on court three, while Rondestvedt was an 8-3 winner over Monmouth's Caden Sepich on court four. On court six,
Ryan Richter defeated Andrew Nickols – also of Monmouth – 8-0, and
Austin Stevens beat Monmouth's Matt Savage 8-7 (3) on court two.
