ST. PETER, Minn. -- The Ripon College women's tennis team competed at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional over the weekend, with the Red Hawks represented in both singles and doubles competition.

Junior Josie Rondestvedt (Altoona, Wis., Altoona HS) represented Ripon in the ITA singles draw, facing Molly Jex of Dubuque in the opening round. Jex came away with a 6-1, 6-1 victory, bringing Rondestvedt's singles competition at the ITA Midwest Regional to a close.

Rondestvedt also teamed up with senior Jessi Griepentrog (Freedom, Wis., Fox Valley Lutheran HS) in the doubles competition. The Ripon duo faced Hattie Plenty and Kaitlyn Narkis of Edgewood, with Plenty and Narkis earning an 8-4 victory.

In addition to the ITA draws, Griepentrog, juniors Isabella Engstrom (Ripon, Wis., Ripon HS), and Emily Bittenger (Shell Rock, Iowa, Waverly-Shell Rock HS) competed in the Gustie Invite draws, with each Red Hawk competing in a different singles draw. Engstrom and Bittenger also participated in the doubles draws at the Gustie Invite but did not advance to the doubles competition.

The weekend provided Ripon with an opportunity to compete against regional competition and gain additional experience in individual tournament play. The Red Hawks will now turn their attention back to Midwest Conference play.
