APPLETON, Wis. - Ripon's men's swimming team won their second consecutive dual meet to start the season Saturday afternoon, defeating conference rival Lawrence University 96-78. The Red Hawks collected seven first-place finishes, including one in relay competition.
Jack Lutter and
Nate Pakosz each won two events, while both also swam a leg on Ripon's first-place 200 freestyle relay team. Lutter placed first in the 200 IM (2:11.45) and 100 butterfly (57.61), while Pakosz was victorious in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.20) and 50 freestyle (22.40). In the 200 freestyle relay, those two teamed up with
Andy Paloumpis and
Alec Sutton to swim a time of 1:34.62. Paloumpis and Sutton also each won an individual event, placing first in the 200 freestyle (1:54.87) and 100 freestyle (51.57), respectively. Tutis Rudzinskas and
Teerit Somanand also contributed with a second place finish in the 100 backstroke (1:05.46) and 500 freestyle (5:39.99), respectively.
The Red Hawks will take next weekend off from competition, before diving back in on November 12 when they'll travel to Lake Forest College for a dual meet with the Foresters in Lake Forest, Ill.
