OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Ripon College women's swim team lost Saturday's dual meet to UW-Oshkosh by a score of 116-86. Despite the result, Ripon still managed a pair of first-place individual finishes and one first-place relay.
Emma Goral won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:15.96, which was 19 seconds better than the second-place time.
Lateesha Hiser added a first-place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 57.82. Hiser and Goral also teamed up with
Janet Koehler and
Winona Holmes-Robbins to win the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:47.48.
Goral added a second-place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.98, while Holmes-Robbins added second-place finishes in both the 200 IM (2:25.80) and 200 backstroke (2:22.36).
Abby Hilker also earned a second-place finish in the 500 freestyle (5:48.30), while
Laryssa Vaclavik placed second in both the 200 breaststroke (2:49.63) and 1000 freestyle (11:53.98).
Ripon will now prepare for the culmination of their season at the Midwest Conference Championships. That three-day event will take place from February 17-19.
