WINONA, Minn. -Â Ripon's men's swim team defeated Saint Mary's convincingly in a dual meet on Saturday afternoon, winning by a score of 116-42. The Red Hawks finished first in seven individual events, while also winning two relays.
Antony Gradillas,
Nate Pakosz, and
Jack Lutter each won two events during the meet. Gradillas was victorious in the 500 freestyle (5:38.47) and 1000 freestyle (11:35.81), while Pakosz won the 50 freestyle (22.53) and 100 freestyle (49.88) and Lutter earned a first-place finish in both the 200 freestyle (1:51.89) and 200 backstroke (2:04.24).
Carson Rose added a first-place finish in the 200 butterfly (2:22.08).
In the relay competition, Ripon's 200 Medley team of Lutter, Rose,
Ben Georgia, and
David Nauman won the event with a time of 1:45.42. Gradillas and Pakosz teamed up with
Alec Sutton and
Ethan Ripp to finish first in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:32.62.
The Red Hawks will be in action again next weekend when they'll take part in Saturday's Wisconsin Private College Championships, hosted by Carthage College. That meet will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Kenosha, Wis.
