WINONA, Minn. - Ripon's women's swim team defeated Saint Mary's (MN) in a dual meet Saturday afternoon, winning by a score of 128-89. The Red Hawks swam to seven first-place finishes in the individual competitions, while also winning two relay events.
Abby Hilker and
Cierra Boutelle each won multiple events on the day. Hilker was victorious in the 500 freestyle (5:40.40), while also winning the 1000 Freestyle (11:41.60). Boutelle won both the 200 freestyle (2:10.06) and 100 freestyle (59.78).
Erin Barrie added a first place finish in the 200 IM (2:35.49), while
Allison Pieper and
Laryssa Vaclavik finished with the top time in the 200 backstroke (2:33.42) and 200 breaststroke (2:54.50), respectively.
In the relay competition, Ripon's 200 freestyle team of Hilker, Boutelle,
Kim Frisque, and
Lateesha Hiser finished first with a time of 1:51.48. The Red Hawks' 200 Medley team of Barrie,
Megan Pieper, Alli Roetz, and
Alisha Krueger also took first place with a time of 2:07.66.
The Red Hawks will be in action again next weekend when they'll take part in Saturday's Wisconsin Private College Championships, hosted by Carthage College. That meet will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Kenosha, Wis.
