RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's men's swimming team came out on the wrong side of both ends of Saturday's double dual, losing to Lawrence 99-64 and to Macalester 98-79. Ripon saw three first-place finishes on the day, including one in relay competition.
Ben Chambers highlighted the meet for the Red Hawks, winning the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.99, while also placing second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.36.
Ethan Ripp added a first-place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 52.06. Ripp also placed third in the 200 freestyle (1:59.75).
Joseph Maddux added a pair of second-place finishes in the 200 IM (2:14.88) and 100 butterfly (59.52).
Ripon's 200 freestyle relay team of Ripp, Maddux, Chambers, and
Aliber Garcia notched a first-place finish with a time of 1:34.34.
The Red Hawks will take next week off from competition, before getting back in the pool on November 9 when they'll host another double dual against Beloit and North Central (Ill.).That meet will begin at 1 p.m. at Willmore Center.
