RIPON, Wis. – The Ripon College men's swimming & diving team lost to Lawrence Saturday afternoon by a score of 108-96.
Cooper Herr and
Aliber Garcia went one-two in the 50-yard freestyle. Herr touched the wall in 22.34 while Garcia finished in 23.93. Herr also won the 100-yard backstroke with a mark of 56.42.
Ben Rahlf notched a winning time of 55.61 in the 100-yard butterfly. Brendan Kile took third after wrapping up the event in 1:15.02.
Ben Chambers took home the 100-yard freestyle title in a solid time of 49.80, edging his closet competitor by three-tenths of a second. Chambers and
Ethan Brannen were the top two student-athletes in the 100-yard breaststroke. Chambers bested the field by winning with a time of 1:03.30 while Brannen claimed a mark of 1:07.58.
In the final event of the meet, Herr,
Brigham Freeman, Rahlf and Chambers combined for a victory in the 200-yard freestyle. The quartet combined for a time of 1:31.75.
The Red Hawks return to action Saturday, Nov. 5 when they host Beloit College at 1 p.m.
