Ripon College freshman infielder Samuel Ott has been named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week, as released Monday by the conference office. The Red Hawks swept the weekly conference honors, with fellow first-year player Mitchell Lukasik receiving MWC Pitcher of the Week honors.

A Business Management major from Watertown, Ott led Ripon to a 4-2 record in six games last week, batting .462 (12-26) with two doubles, four home runs, 16 RBI, and nine runs scored, while recording a slugging percentage of 1.000. In Sunday's game at Knox College, Ott recorded a career-high seven RBI as he crushed a pair of home runs to lead Ripon to a 21-6 victory.

Ott now leads Ripon with 40 RBI this season, while ranking second on the team in both doubles (10) and home runs (5). Last week's performance raised his season batting average to .351, which currently ranks third on the team.
