RIPON, Wisconsin – An outstanding representative of Ripon both on the diamond and in the community, Brandon Peace of the Ripon baseball program has been named to the inaugural Lou Gehrig Community Impact Team as announced by Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity on Monday.
 
The inaugural Lou Gehrig Community Impact Team celebrates nine collegiate baseball players from various levels, including NCAA Division 1, Division 2, Division 3, and NAIA. Peace was selected as one of nine recipients among over 50 nominees. The full impact team is below and includes six Division I players, one DII player, one NAIA athlete and Peace as the only DIII honoree.

A two-time Academic All-Midwest Conference selection who will graduate this spring with degrees in Business Management and Sports Management with a minor in Sociology, Peace is involved with numerous things on campus. He is a member of the Order of Omega and Phi Epsilon Kappa, holds the position of Warden for Phi Delta Theta, is a member of the 2024 Ripon College Senior Class Gift Committee and serves on the Ripon College 1851 Club, a philanthropic organization that supports Ripon College's mission and provides resources for the enhancement of campus life. In addition to academic accolades from the Midwest Conference, he has been named to the Dean's List three times.
 
In the community, he has participated in the foundation walk for the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin, rang bells during the holidays for the Salvation Army, coached youth baseball camps and assisted in holiday book drives along with the St. Ben's Community Meal Program. He also contributes to the ALS Foundation of Wisconsin and the Live Like Lou Foundation.
 
On the diamond, Peace made 13 relief appearances last season throughout 17.0 innings and will take on an even larger role for the Red Hawks in 2024.
 
To further Lou Gehrig's legacy and his storied baseball career that began at the collegiate level at Columbia University, Phi Delta Theta, in partnership with the Live Like Lou Foundation, has created the Lou Gehrig Community Impact Team to annually recognize the giving character and community impact of collegiate baseball players.

Honorees were chosen based on outstanding achievements in three key areas: Demonstrating a substantial commitment to their community through service and philanthropy, embodying the generous spirit and character of Lou Gehrig and making remarkable contributions to the success of their respective teams.

Ripon begins its season on Saturday (February 24) as the Red Hawks take on Hope at 11 a.m. CT and Benedictine at 2:30 p.m. CT. from Westfield, Indiana.
