Wahlen and Terrell Named All-Midwest Conference Performers

RIPON, Wisconsin – Two members of the Ripon baseball program have been named All-Midwest Conference performers as announced by the league on Thursday morning.

Blaine Wahlen (first team) and Nick Terrell (second team) were both named all-league athletes following terrific seasons leading Ripon. Wahlen's 2024 selection marks his first-ever postseason honor, while Terrell has now been selected to the All-MWC team three times in his career.

Wahlen had a terrific season for the Red Hawks on the mound. His 61 strikeouts are tied for 10th-most in a single season in program history. He led Ripon with a 4.14 ERA and 1.19 WHIP, highlighted by a complete game, four-hitter against Keystone on March 15. Pitching a team-high 58.2 innings, he held opponents to a .227 batting average and struck out at least six batters in eight of his 10 appearances.

In his return to Ripon, Terrell had an outstanding year for the Red Hawks at the plate. The senior led Ripon with a .333 batting average, 26 RBI and a .939 OPS. He was also tied for the team lead with 44 hits, 23 walks and 18 stolen bases. Additionally, he was second on the squad with 32 runs scored and eight doubles.

Terrell wrapped up his illustrious career in a Ripon uniform with his name littered throughout the record books. He holds the school record for career doubles with 55 and is tied for the school record in career games played with 155. He's second in school history in career at-bats (592), third in career stolen bases (51), fourth in career total bases (334), fifth in career hits (201) and sixth in career runs scored (147). Terrell is also tied for sixth in school history with 22 career home runs and is sixth in the program record books for career RBI with 118. Additionally, he's tied for 10th in school history in career walks (70) and holds multiple single-season records for Ripon as well. Defensively, he's second in school history with 454 career assists.

After winning the regular season league title in historic fashion, Lawrence cleaned up nearly all of the major conference awards. Jacob Charon was the league's player of the year, while Quinn Berglin was the pitcher of the year and Chris Krepline was the coach of the year. Cornell's Cade Parks was named the newcomer of the year.
