RIPON, Wisconsin – After another banner year in the classroom, the Ripon baseball program has received the 2023-24 Team Academic Excellence Award, announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) on Wednesday.
 
This annual award, which began in 2016, honors high school and college teams coached by current ABCA members who posted a GPA over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the 2023-24 academic year. To be nominated and selected, head coaches also must be a 2023-24 ABCA member.
 
Earlier this summer, Caleb Mammoser received individual academic recognition. The sophomore was a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District pick for his work in the classroom and on the mound.
 
Ripon finished the 2024 season 15-21 overall and 11-12 in Midwest Conference action, narrowly missing the MWC Tournament. Blaine Wahlen (first team) and Nick Terrell (second team) were both named to the All-Midwest Conference team.
