RIPON, Wis. -- Five members of the Ripon College men's and women's basketball teams have been named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators, as announced today.
Anton Kilde of the men's basketball team, along with Halle Van Horn, Karsyn Nelson, Natalie Rauwolf and Molly Johannes from the women's basketball team, were all recognized for their achievements both academically and athletically.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher while competing in at least 90 percent of their team's games or starting in at least 60 percent of contests throughout the season.
Kilde, a sophomore engineering major from Portage, Wisconsin, earned the honor for the Red Hawks men's basketball team, representing Ripon's commitment to success in the classroom during the 2025-26 season.
The women's basketball program, coming off one of the most successful seasons in school history, placed four student-athletes on the list. Halle Van Horn, a sophomore pre-veterinary major from Fredonia, Wisconsin, was named the Midwest Conference Elite 20 award recipient and earned second team All-Conference honors. Karsyn Nelson, a sophomore exercise science major from Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, also earned recognition for her work in the classroom and contributions on the court.
Natalie Rauwolf, a senior exercise science major from Madison, Wisconsin, adds Academic All-District honors to an already decorated season that included first team All-Conference recognition. Molly Johannes, a senior chemistry-biology major from Eldorado, Wisconsin, was also honored, closing out her collegiate career with strong academic and athletic success.
Ripon's women's basketball team finished the season with a 26-3 overall record and a perfect 18-0 mark in Midwest Conference play, capturing its eighth consecutive regular season title and third straight conference tournament championship. The Red Hawks also recorded a 21-game winning streak, earned their first NCAA Tournament win since 2005 and secured the 200th career victory for head coach Lauren Busalacchi, highlighting a historic year for the program.
Overall, Ripon's representation on the Academic All-District team reflects the continued emphasis on excellence in both academics and athletics across both programs.
