KOHLER, Wis. - The Ripon men's tennis team opened their 2013 season Sunday afternoon against an always tough Grinnell College squad, losing to the Pioneers 9-0.

Eric Seiler and Ryan Slowinski played the most competitive singles matches for the Red Hawks (0-1) at the number one and three flights, respectively. Both players lost their matches to Grinnell (4-1) by scores of 6-1, 6-1. Freshman Connor Greenwald also recorded a point, losing his number two singles match 6-0, 6-1.

In doubles play, Seiler and Greenwald teamed up at number one doubles, but fell to Elliott Czarnecki and Emilio Gomez, 8-1.

The Red Hawks will look to rebound on February 23 when they'll play matches against both Cornell College and St. Ambrose University at 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively. Those matches will take place in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
