CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Ripon's men's tennis team lost to Buena Vista University (3-3) Saturday morning by a score of 8-1. The Red Hawks put up a fight in several matches, with their lone win coming in singles play.

In doubles action, Eric Seiler and Connor Greenwald lost their number one flight, 8-3. Ryan Slowinski and Brian Schumacher also teamed up to fall 8-2 at the second flight.

Singles play saw Greenwald earn the only team point for the Red Hawks (0-4), as he defeated Kyle Shade 6-2, 6-0 at the second flight. Eric Seiler was also competitive before losing 1-6, 3-6 at the top flight. Ryan Slowinski also lost 1-6, 3-6 at the third flight.

Ripon will look for their first victory of the season on Saturday when they'll travel to Monmouth College. That match will begin at 1 p.m. in Monmouth, Ill.
