MONMOUTH, Ill. - Ripon fell to Monmouth College (4-4) Saturday afternoon, 8-1, in what is the first of two consecutive days with a match for the Red Hawks.

In doubles play, Ripon (0-5) lost by a combined score of 16-7, with the third flight decided by forfeit.

Singles play saw the Red Hawks be competitive in nearly every match. Brian Schumacher notched the Red Hawks' only team point with a three set victory at the number four flight, winning by a score of 5-7, 6-2, 10-5. At number two singles, Connor Greenwald put up a fight before falling, 4-6, 4-6.

The Red Hawks will be in action again on Sunday when they'll battle Lakeland College at 9 a.m. in Kohler, Wis.
