VIRGINIA, Minn. - The Ripon men's tennis team lost both of their matches on Sunday by identical 9-0 scores. Their first loss came to St. Scholastica, with the other coming at the hands of Carleton College, which is ranked 10th in the region.
Against St. Scholastica (2-1), Ripon (1-3) lost all three doubles matches by a combined score of 24-6. In singles play, the Red Hawks' closest match came at the number one flight, as Eric Seiler lost 6-1, 6-4.
In the second match of the day, Ripon lost the first and second doubles flights to Carleton (1-0) by scores of 8-5, while losing the third flight 8-0. In singles play, the Red Hawks lost each flight 6-0, 6-0, with the exception of the number four spot, which saw Lincoln Wurtz fall by a score of 6-0, 6-1.
Ripon will try to get back in the win column on Saturday against Wisconsin Lutheran. That match will take place at Center Court in Fond du Lac, Wis. at 3 p.m.
