Box Score vs. Dominican (Ill.)

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Ripon's men's tennis team lost both of their matches Saturday afternoon against tough non-conference opponents. The Red Hawks began the day by dropping a 9-0 decision to Calvin College, before also falling to Dominican (Ill.) Universtiy by a score of 6-3.

Against Calvin (1-0), Eric Seiler put up a fight at the top flight before losing, 6-2, 6-7, 5-10. Calvin went on to win the other five singles matches, with two coming by 6-0, 6-0 scores. In doubles play, Seiler teamed with Lincoln Wurtz to narrowly lose at the top flight, 8-9 (4-7).

Ripon fared much better against Dominican (1-1), where Seiler and Wurtz each won their singles matches, 6-0, 6-0 at the number one and two flights, respectively. Ripon's other team point came at number one doubles, where Seiler and Wurtz won by a score of 8-2. Anders Goodwin and Nick Julian teamed up at the number two doubles flight, but narrowly lost, 7-9.

The Red Hawks will search for their first win of the season next week, when they'll travel to St. Scholastica. That match will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday.
